With the Adapt not Cancel program, The Boite has ensured a vibrant and dynamic program throughout the year without skipping a beat. We have been providing work and artistic opportunities for culturally and linguistically diverse musicians, sound technicians and producers.
The Boite believes everybody should have the opportunity to engage with art and music, regardless of financial situation.That’s why throughout September and October, for our Sunday series of concerts, we are reducing ticket costs and taking on the difference to make our music even more accessible.

Zulya and the Children of the Underground Trio in a reflective concert of songs from Zulya's childhood in Tatarstan. With Zulya Kamalova on vocals, Andrew Tanner on bass and Anthony Schulz on Accordion.
Luke Plumb and Stephen Lalor
3.30pm Sunday October 4
Luke Plumb and Stephen Lalor. From Tasmania and NSW, come two of our finest mandolin players, collaborating across musical genres and state borders.
Australian Shakuhachi Festival Concert

When confronted by the Covid 19 restrictions, Lindsay Dugan initially thought the international Shakuhachi Festival he was immersed in organizing, could not go ahead. Since then, he has moved to an online solution which is offering shakuhachi players and students around Australia and the world, opportunities to learn from the most highly regarded players of the revered Japanese flute. In conjunction with The Boite, he is presenting a concert with two of those players, as the Festival finale. That concert will also be available to viewers the world over.
Kazushi Matama and Kaoru Kakizakai have played and taught shakuhachi in Japan for many years and are deeply respected as masters and teachers. Both toured internationally and until the outbreak of the 2020 pandemic, anticipated playing and teaching in Melbourne for this year’s festival. Now their music will still be available through this online concert.
Unknown Mirrors with Ryan Williams and Miyama McQueen-Tokita

Ryan Williams, recorders and Miyama McQueen-Tokita koto. Japan-based Miyama has collaborated with Melbourne’s recorder playing adventurer Ryan WIlliams, in a recording project: Your Ten is My Twelve. This is the first opportunity to hear and see their latest musical adventure.
Sweet Sound Ensemble

Persian-Australian singer, Shirin Majdteymouri has taken her performances across the world and the world is her source of inspiration. She sings in Farsi, Turkish, Spanish and English, drawing on the musical traditions of those cultures. For this Boite online concert she brings a collection of love songs.
